Job Information: The Breastfeeding Network looking for BfN peer supporters to deliver the First Milk Matters training sessions both online and in person as part of the Telford & Wrekin Start for Life Peer Support Service. First Milk Matters is a one off 2.5-3 hr session and training materials are already available – though local aspects will need to be inserted. The successful applicant will lead on planning, advertising and booking sessions with local staff. They will need to feel confident training people from a variety of backgrounds e.g. health professionals, early years and education staff and others with an interest in infant feeding as well as facilitating groups discussions about infant feeding. The course covers how breastfeeding works, why it is important and looks at some of the barriers to breastfeeding in our culture. It also helps people think about how they can support breastfeeding in their professional setting.
